INNOFOOD Project held the Fourth Steering Committee meeting
The fourth Steering Committee Meeting of the “Technical Assistance for Development of Research and Innovation Facilities for Improving the Regional Competitiveness of Food Industry” (INNOFOOD Project), which technical assistance is provided by the Consortium of Eurecna S.p.A, EDUSER, GIZ and Crescendo, held on 2 November 2021.
The project, which started on 15 June 2020 and will be implemented for 36 months, aims to increase the R&D capacity and new product development capabilities of SMEs in the food and beverage sectors and to provide consultancy services for SMEs. In this context, the following project activities are being carried out: “Establishment of the “Food Innovation Center of Turkey, TÜGİP”, “R&D and Innovation Capacity Building of Food Producing SMEs”, “Increasing the Market Capabilities of Food Processing SMEs”, “Establishment of Giresun and Şanlıurfa Food Test/Analysis Laboratories and their Staff Trainings” and “Networking and Awareness Raising Activities”.
In the meeting attended by the End Recipient TÜBİTAK-MRC, stakeholders Gaziantep Commodity Exchange, Giresun Commodity Exchange and Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and representatives of the EU Delegation, Operational Coordination Unit, Technical Assistance Team and Consortium, the activities carried out within the scope of the project, on-going activities and works planned to be carried out were discussed. In addition, information about the developments in the construction of food testing and analysis laboratories and staff employment issues was given.
